When you do the chain plates for the Mizzenmast you could put a bar clamp or two across the frames and use a wood wedge to hold the backer blocks hard against the hull while you drill the holes. If you don’t have a short bar clamp you could screw a couple temp 2×4 blocks across the frames and wedge against those.
Keep up the great work! The finish line is near and in no time you’ll be setting sail for the Sea of Cortez! I hope one day I have the courage to tackle a boat of my own.
